But what is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of your connective tissue and has a significant effect on the elasticity of your cartilage, ligaments and skin. However, as we age, we produce less of it. Our connective tissue elasticity decreases and the number and depth of our wrinkles increases. These deficits are compensated for with targeted injections, and the skin regains moisture and structure. Wrinkles and fine lines are reduced or completely corrected.

What can be treated with hyaluronic acid?

The main indication areas for injections with hyaluronic acid are

• nasolabial folds

• so-called Merkel wrinkles (corners of the mouth pulled downwards)

• Tobacco pouch mouth (upper lip wrinkles)

• Glabella or frown line

• thinker's forehead wrinkles

• Lip contour/ lip volume

How is the treatment process?

First, we will discuss your wishes and expectations as well as the possibilities and limits of treatment with hyaluronic acid in an informative discussion. Looking through older photographs is always a good help. The treatment itself takes place on an outpatient basis and lasts approx. 45 minutes, after which you can immediately continue with your everyday life.

First it will Treatment area cleaned. To prepare the area, I always use an anesthetic ointment, the slight anesthetic of which ends after about an hour. So you hardly feel the injection. Small amounts of hyaluronic acid are then injected directly under the wrinkles with the help of wafer-thin needles. The injected volume lifts the crease for a smooth, even effect that's instantly visible.

The result depends on the injected amount of hyaluronic acid.

If you only want to correct your "disturbing" wrinkles or fill in your lips, you will look younger afterwards. Like after a nice, relaxing vacation. But of a longer duration

On the day of the treatment, the few puncture points can be covered with a little make-up, making the treatment virtually invisible to third parties.

How long does the effect last?

Expect a shelf life of 6-9 months. After this time, you have the option of having the treated area refilled again. Half the injection amount of hyaluronic acid is often sufficient. In studies, hyaluronic acid was detected up to 3 years after application.

Lifestyle habits such as heavy smoking, excessive exposure to the sun and extreme endurance sports as well as the use of enzyme preparations can reduce the shelf life influence.
